Politics have no place in heathcare. This is in response to bill SB191 requiring Alaskan women seeking an abortion to first undergo an ultrasound. This unnecessary medical procedure would cost women hundreds of dollars (if not more) and is an absolute waste of medical resources. Perhaps men should have to be required to undergo a rectal exam and cardiac stress-test before obtaining medicine for erectile dysfunction. Think this is ridiculous? Sen. Janet Howell of Virginia, proposed just this in response to a bill similar to this one introduced by Alaska Sens. John Coghill, Charlie Huggins, Cathy Giessel, and Donald Olson. Their bill is an attempt to chip away at personal freedom, privacy, and Roe v. Wade. I believe women who seek abortions make this decision based on what is best for their situation, unlike the senators.

@grim: NOT Funny...
...but kind of a sick puppy. A good example of all of those "one-issue" voters out there. This is the same way many of the hard-right fundamentalists believe: "It's murder - discussion over!" These "moralist hypocrites" are WAY more dangerous to America than the women who say: "It's MY choice. It's NOT murder. Go suck an egg!" Great letter! Got news for all you crazy R's who want to drag the nation back to the horrible 50's: Not gonna happen. But thank you for being so nuts that Obama wins his second term. Romney in 2016! Ha.
