JDHS graduate, wife earn physical therapy doctorate degrees

Rebecca (Jepsen) Matthews and husband Richard Matthews both graduated with a Doctor of Physical Therapy Degree (DPT) from Eastern Washington University at the commencement ceremony held Saturday, June 16 in the Spokane Veterans Memorial Arena. Rebecca is the daughter of Bill and Nancy Jepsen of Heppner, Oregon and a 2012 graduate of Ione High School. Richard is the son of Tom and Tamara Matthews of Juneau and a 2007 graduate of Juneau-Douglas High School. Upon graduation both Rebecca and Richard became employed as physical therapists at Wallowa Memorial Hospital in Enterprise, Oregon.

Mell named to dean’s list

Stephen Mell of Juneau has been named to the Dean’s List for the spring 2018 semester at Washington University in St. Louis. Mell is enrolled in the university’s College of Arts & Sciences. To qualify for the Dean’s List in the College of Arts & Sciences, students must earn a semester grade point average of 3.6 or above and be enrolled in at least 14 graded units.

Lukshin named to dean’s list

Emily Lukshin of Juneau has been named to the dean’s list for the spring 2018 semester at the University of Wyoming. The school honor rolls consist of regularly enrolled undergraduates above freshman standing who earned a 3.4 or better grade-point average, and freshmen who have earned a 3.25 or better grade-point average. To be eligible, students must have been enrolled for a minimum of 12 credit hours.
