The Far North can be downright uncomfortable, so a little silliness is called for.
In this video, traveler Dana Lyons of Bellingham, Wash., entertains Arctic Village passers-by with a tribute to the mosquito. The buzzing biters are ever-present in Alaska's arctic summer. The song was written by Darryl Cherney.
Juneau residents might recognize Lyons' name from his song "Cows With Guns," which KTOO-FM has played on the air. That's what he claims, anyway.
