TMHS students need local input for art contest

Five Thunder Mountain High School art students — Peyton Webb, Lynzey Culver, Paris Donohoe, Courtney Johnson and Lindsay Smithberg —

are now in the running for a national art contest for VAN’S shoe designs, and they could use local votes.

High school art classes across the country are competing in the shoe customization contest, and if chosen, progress from state to regional to national levels. A panel of judges, including Vans artists and athletes, will choose a winner at a final event in New York in June.

Voting began Monday, April 25, and ends Monday, May 2, at 8 p.m. The more votes a TMHS student receives, the greater his or her chance to go to NYC, and for the art program to receive

$50,000.
