Open Institute in Homer supports teaching of writing this summer

The Alaska State Writing Consortium will hold its Open Institute on May 31-June 9 in Homer. Its goal is to support the effective teaching of writing at all grade levels and across all content levels. The institute will explore strategies to promote the teacher as writer, researcher, facilitator and leader.

The institute is a joint effort of the National Writing project, the Alaska State Writing Consortium, the Kenai Peninsula Borough School District, and the University of Alaska Fairbanks. Three UAF credits are available.
