She’s done it again.
Tuesday night, Juneau’s Anna Graceman inspired whoops and cheers from the America’s Got Talent studio audience and provoked a standing ovation — as well as high praise — from the judges with her rendition of “Home Sweet Home.”
Dressed in hot pink and black, the 11-year-old belted out the Motley Crue cover as a dramatic light show blasted behind her.
The performance, Graceman’s first in many weeks, was as part of the show’s semi-final competition, being filmed in Hollywood.
Judges’ praise for Graceman’s latest performance was effusive.
“Where does that voice come from?” asked judge Piers Morgan. “You have an incredible voice, an amazing talent, and that was, I think, so far, the best performance of the night.”
Sharon Osbourne, who said she’d already put in a call to her friends in Motley Crue, said she thought the band would entirely agree with her assessment.
“It was absolutely amazing,” she said, seconding Morgan’s opinion that it was the performance of the night.
Howie Mandel said he’d keep it short — to one word, in fact: “Wow!”
It was the first time the singer had chosen a rock song.
The results show, scheduled for Wednesday on NBC, occurred after press time but it seems certain that Graceman will progress to the next level: the Top 10.
The show airs on Tuesdays and Wednesdays on NBC.
