Juneau PBS affiliate KTOO-TV will broadcast “Not As I Pictured,” a cancer survival story based on the experiences of Pulitzer Prize-winning photojournalist John Kaplan, on Wednesday, Oct. 5 at 10 p.m., with a rerun on Thursday, Oct. 6 at 4 a.m.
After being diagnosed at 48 years old with a potentially deadly form of lymphoma, Kaplan chronicled his experiences in a visual journal. “Not As I Pictured” is now showing on PBS stations nationwide. The soundtrack is comprised by music donated by various leading musicians including Michael Stipe of R.E.M., Christ Martin of Coldplay, David Bowie, will.i.am of the Black Eyed Peas, Justin Timberlake, Pantera and Cowboy Junkies. The American Society of Clinical Oncology and The American Cancer Society were two of the film’s collaborators.
