The city museum’s Coffee & Collections Series begins Saturday with a guided tour of “Get Your Motors Running: Chainsaws and Outboards on the Last Frontier,” with Curator of Collections & Exhibits Addison Field. Field will guide audience members on a walk through of the museum’s summer exhibit featuring chainsaws from the 1950s and early outboards from the late 1930s through the 1950s, and discuss the impact these two inventions had on life in Southeast Alaska. The presentation begins at 10:30 a.m.
“Get Your Motors Running: Chainsaws and Outboards on the Last Frontier” will run until Nov. 19.
The Juneau-Douglas City Museum is currently on winter hours: Tuesday through Friday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Admission is free during the month of October thanks to the Pioneers of Alaska Men & Women’s Igloo #6.
