Open studio tours continue this weekend

The Franklin Street gallery at the Baranof Hotel has organized a month-long open studios event, highlighting the workspaces of many local artists. The event began on First Friday, with the opening of a group exhibition at the Franklin Street gallery (on display all month at 127 N. Franklin St.), and continues through the end of the month.

Last weekend’s open studio tours included artists Arnie Weimer, Mostapha Beya, Sarah Conarro, Julie and Kent Crabtree and Dan Fruits. Here’s a look at what’s coming up in the next couple weeks.

Throughout the month:

DAVID WOODIE: Paintings. 1-5-ish p.m. Sundays in October, Room 212, Emporium Mall downtown (above Gold Town Nickelodeon movie theater).

SHARRON LOBAUGH: Watercolors. 12-4 p.m. Saturdays in October. 3340 Fritz Cove Road (first building on right side on Fritz Cove Rd)

RAVENSONG STUDIOS: Native carvings, jewelry and paintings, featuring carver John Hughes painter Henrietta Peterson and carver Duane Bosch. 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. Saturdays, Oct. 15 and 22. Franklin Street, just above Pocket Park

Oct. 15

CONSTANCE BALTUCK: Paintings, acrylic. 1-4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 15, 418 Harris St. (between Fourth and Fifth streets, at the Articorp building) downtown.

BARBARA CRAVER: Acrylic paintings and pastels. 1-4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 15, 418 Harris Street, Studio 406, 418 Harris St., Articorp building downtown.
