The Sealaska Heritage Institute is soliciting essay-length articles for its new “Box of Knowledge Occasional Papers” series. The institute welcomes submissions dealing with all aspects of Alaska Native life, including history, anthropology, archaeology, art history, political science, linguistics, sociology, and literature. Consideration will be given to manuscripts that make a strong contribution to knowledge through new interpretations or new information. Submissions will also be considered according to topic interest, accuracy, level of interpretation, and literary quality.
SHI recognizes indigenous knowledge. SHI does not consider reprints or simultaneous submissions.
Articles for consideration must be submitted to Zachary R. Jones at zachary.jones@sealaska.com in Word format. Illustrative materials must be sent in a second email and attached in a separate file, not embedded in the Word document manuscript. Papers may be edited for content and style in collaboration with the author.
