Wearable art show registration now open

Registrations are now being accepted for Juneau Arts and Humanities Council’s 2012 Wearable Arts extravaganza: Fusion.

Flordelino Lagundino will be taking over for Patricia Hull as this year’s artistic director.

“With this theme we are looking to inspire artists to build pieces that can create an explosive energy on stage through the collision of two or more elements, such as materials, ideas, and cultures,” Lagundino said in a press release.

As in past years, the theme for this year’s Wearable Art Extravaganza is not required of the artists.

Artists can register online at www.jahc.org. The deadline is 5 p.m. Monday, Jan. 9.

“Fusion” will be presented at 8 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 12 with a 3 p.m. matinee on Sunday, Feb. 13.
