Carver Abel Ryan to be featured at state museum Saturday

The Alaska State Museum will continue its Alaska Native Heritage Month Artist Demonstrator Series this Saturday with featured carver Abel Ryan. Ryan will be at the museum from 10 a.m. through 4 p.m. Saturday, with a short break for lunch. The public is invited.

Tsimshian carver Ryan, from Metlakatlah, will demonstrate Northwest coast carving. Admission is free.

The November artist demonstrator series is part of the museum’s observance of Native American Heritage Awareness Month. Other featured artists in the series were weaver Percy Kunz and silver carver Ed Kunz.
