Group storytelling event 'Mudrooms' debuts Wednesday

“Mudrooms,” a new storytelling event, will make its debut Wednesday, Nov. 30. Based on Anchorage’s Arctic Entries series, and created in the spirit of PRI’s “This American LIfe,” “Mudrooms” will feature seven minute personal stories from seven community members on a specific theme. November’s theme is preparation, December’s is out-dated.

Amanda Compton will host the show, with help from Alida Bus and Lauren Brooks. It begins at 7 p.m. at The Rookery Café.

The show’s hosts are also looking for stories for future Mudroom sessions.

Also welcome: suggestions about someone who has a good story to tell, or musicians who might want to perform between storytellers.

Tickets are $7 at the door, with profits from the show going to a different charity each month.
