Local photographer Ben Huff will lead a new photography course at the University of Alaska Southeast this semester called Making a Photography Book. The class will be held Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:15-6:45 p.m. at the Auke Bay campus.
Huff will lead students in using print-on-demand technology to produce a book of their own images. Editing, sequencing, narrative and design will all be discussed, as well as the role of the book in contemporary photography.
The class will also touch on alternative methods of book publishing, handmade books and electronic media.
Huff also teaches Digital Photographic Printing at UAS, offered on Mondays and Wednesdays fom 3:30-5 p.m.
