JLO seeks choral singers for Messiah concerts in April

The first chorus rehearsal for Handel’s Messiah spring concerts will be Jan. 19 at 7 p.m. at Resurrection Lutheran Church, 740 W 10th Street

Juneau Lyric Opera (JLO) is holding a season-long celebration of Handel’s Messiah. The project is led by Bruce Simonson, music director, and culminates in a performance of the entire work at the end of April.

JLO is looking for singers to perform Messiah. The chorus is open to all — no audition required. Rehearsals are scheduled every Thursday evening and some Mondays, through April. No experience needed; the only requirement is a desire to sing some of the most beautiful music ever written.

Chorus enrollment costs $30 and scores are available for $10.
