Locals honored with Mayor's Awards Sunday

Prior to the beginning of Sunday’s Wearable Arts Extravaganza at Centennial Hall, Mayor Bruce Botelho presented the fifth annual Mayor’s Awards for the Arts. The awards, first given in 2007, are based on nominations from the community, which are then reviewed by members of the Juneau Arts & Humanities Council’s Board of Trustees.

Honorees were Dan Hopson, Elementary Art Specialists Nancy Lehnhart and Mimi Walker Medenica, the Alaskan Brewing Co., Lucid Reverie, Buddy Tabor, Bruce Simonson and Bing Carillo.
