Short Story Contest for Alaskan women now open

Radical Arts for Women has announced the opening of The Nicole Blizzard Short Story Contest, annual fiction contest for Alaskan women.

Nicole Blizzard was a lesbian writer and editor who died in December 2009. She created, published and edited the LGBT literary journal Naked Ptarmigan, and is the author of “Love and Other Mishaps: An Accidental Anthology.” Authors must be women living in Alaska as of February 2012. Fiction pieces must be between 250 and 5,000 words and contain some lesbian content. The grand prize is $500, second place $300, and third place $100. The deadline is April 1. There is no entry fee.
