UAS bookstore to host triple poetry reading on Friday

The University of Alaska Southeast Bookstore by the Bay will host a triple reading and booksigning this week, featuring three prominent Alaska writers from Fairbanks.

Amber Flora Thomas will read from “The Rabbits Could Sing,” Nicole Stellon O’Donnell will read from “Steam Laundry” and Alaska Writer Laureate Peggy Shumaker will read from “The City Beneath the Snow” by Marjorie Kowalski Cole.

“The Rabbits Could Sing” and “Steam Laundry” are poetry collections, and Cole’s “The City Beneath the Snow” is a book of stories published posthumously earlier this year.

Thomas’ and Cole’s books were published as part of the Alaska Literary Series, a division of University of Alaska Press.

This free event runs from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Friday, April 13. Lunch refreshments will be served.
