Pride Chorus to perform Saturday at the JACC

The Juneau Pride Chorus performs at last week's Alaska Folk Festival.

The Juneau Pride Chorus will perform a concert on Saturday, April 21, at the JACC. The title of the concert is “Come Walk With Us,” and the theme of the music is a journey of courage.

A silent auction will begin at 6:30 p.m., followed by the concert at 7:30 p.m. Cayenne Blue will perform the opening set.

The concert will help raise funds for the group to attend the GALA Choruses International Festival in Denver, Colo in July 2012.

Organizer Mary Graham said the chorus has been preparing for the GALA since last August, and that it will mark the group’s biggest venue ever. The GALA hosts 175 choirs and ensembles, and includes more than 200 performances and 5,000 delegates over four days.

Tickets to Saturday’s concert are available at the JACC and from chorus members.

The Juneau Pride Chorus, who most recently performed at the Alaska Folk Festival, is sponsored by PFLAG Juneau, Parents Family and Friends of Lesbians and Gays.

The Pride Foundation is also a sponsor for this concert.
