Native Jazz musicians to perform this weekend

Native Jazz musicians Ed Littlefield and Christian Fabian are continuing their highly successful Native Jazz movement this summer, with concerts and workshops scheduled for Juneau, Sitka and other locations.

On Friday, from 7 to 9 p.m., Littlefield and Fabian will perform with Kari Groven and Jason Caputo at the Rookery. The evening will include Native Jazz originals as well as original work by Groven, and provide an opportunity for audience members to jam with the band.

“We’re anticipating that the first half will be mostly concert style and the second half will be mostly jam style, inviting people to jam,” Groven said.

Beer and wine will be available, and admission is pay-as-you-can $5-$10 at the door.
