The 71st annual Juneau-Douglas Picnic will be held this today, from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. at Woodland Park in Seattle, at Stove 6. Organized by Barb Nielsen, the annual event brings together past and present Juneau residents and their extended families.
Coffee, tea, soft drinks, water, cake and ice cream will be provided.
Travelers coming from I-5, northbound and southbound, should take Exit #169 at 50th and head west, then take a right on Greenlake Way and then a left “jog” just before the golf range (by the tennis courts). Drive up a rather windy hill and down to the parking for Stove 6. Travelers can also exit off of Aurora (Hwy. 99) but only if they’re headed north.
Ample parking will be available but no cars are allowed to park right next to the shelter.
This year the picnic will welcome the class of 1957, as they celebrate their 55th reunion. For more information, contact Malin Babcock, email@example.com.
