Local photographer Ben Huff will lead a digital photography course, Digital Photo Printing, at the University of Alaska Southeast beginning Sept. 10. This evening course is suitable for interested locals as well as UAS students, and is scheduled to run from 5:30-8:30 pm on Mondays at the Auke Bay campus.
Topics covered in the class will include color management, professional practices, workflow and the ingredients that make an aesthetically successful print. Students will also have an opportunity to make exhibition quality prints of their photos. This year the photo lab has been updated with all new PCs and monitors and four professional quality printers.
Instructor Huff moved to Juneau last year from Fairbanks, and offered the UAS class for the first time in the fall of 2011. He is scheduled to have a solo show of his photography at the Alaska State Museum in February.
