"Derby Baby" screening to be presented with live derby demos Friday

The Gold Town Nickelodeon and Juneau Rollergirls will present two screenings of the documentary “Derby Baby: A Story of Love, Addiction and Rink Rash” this Friday, Sept. 14. The film will be shown at 6:30 and 9 p.m. at Rockwell, and a live derby demonstration by Juneau Rollergirls will be presented prior to each screening.

The documentary, narrated by Juliette Lewis, explores the drama, the friendships, and the addictive nature of the women’s flat-track roller derby, including never-before-seen bout footage of the international flat-track roller derby champions.

A no-host bar and food will be available at the screenings, and tickets are $10 at the door or in advance at www.goldtownnick.com.

Rockwell is located in the old Elk’s Hall on Franklin Street downtown.
