Alaska Litho opens photo contest; theme is 'motion'

Alaska Litho has opened the submission period for their annual photo contest, with a theme of “motion.” This theme was chosen as part of the celebration of the local business’ 65th anniversary, which will be observed next year. Photos will be judged based on how well the photographer has used the theme in his or her photo.

Entries will be accepted through Oct. 12.

The top entries will be displayed for public voting during the First Friday art walk on Nov. 2. Winners will be announced by the end of November.

To enter, send a digital file of your photo to photos@aklitho.com, along with your name, phone number, and photo title. The digital file should be no larger than 2 MB. Low quality photos may be disqualified. Up to five photos may be submitted. All entries must be original, may not have won previous photo contests, and must not infringe on any third party rights.

The Grand Prize is $250 in cash, a First Friday photo exhibit, and the winning photo featured in the 2013 poster calendar. Eleven runners-up will receive $65 cash and their photos featured in the 2013 desktop calendar. Poster calendars featuring the Grand Prize photo will be available to the community during the Dec. 7 Gallery Walk.
