New York Polyphony to perform Tuesday at TMHS

The Juneau Arts & Humanities council’s concert series continues next week with New York Polyphony, a vocal chamber ensemble. They will perform at the Thunder Mountain High School Auditorium on Tuesday, Oct. 9, at 7 p.m.

The classical a cappella all-male quartet will perform sacred and secular hits from the 14 – 17th centuries. Composers will include Purcell, Morley, Cornush, Nola, Vitry, Guerrero, Brumel, and more.

Since their founding in 2006, New York Polyphony has maintained an active performance schedule. The ensemble has participated in major concert series and festivals throughout North America and Europe, including Miller Theatre at Columbia University; Ireland’s Ardee Baroque Festival; Denmark’s Vendsyssel Festival; Festival de Música de Morelia, Mexico; and Choral at Cadogan Hall in London.

In December 2011, New York Polyphony made their television debut on The Martha Stewart Show.
