Halloween Skate, 8-9:30 p.m., Friday, Treadwell Ice Arena. The public is invited to wear costumes, skate to spooky music and have a chance to win prizes at the Halloween Skate at Treadwell Ice Arena. $3-$5. Details: 586-0410.

Halloween Costume Photo Contest: The Juneau Empire is inviting community members to participate in this year’s Halloween Costume Photo Contest for a chance to win prizes. Featuring “Mad Monster Party” at 7 p.m., and John Carpenter’s “Halloween” at 9 p.m. Movies $9 each for adults, $7 for seniors and students, $5 for kids, or the double feature for $14, $10 seniors/students. No kids will be admitted to the second feature.

“Nosferatu” with live musical accompaniment from Bridget Cross and George Kuhar at the Gold Town. Cross and Kuhar, of Playboy Spaceman, will perform their live score to the 1922 silent film “Nosferatu.” Part of the Not-So-Silent Film series. “Halloween“ at the Gold Town: The classic slasher film, released in 1978 and directed by John Carpenter. 9 p.m. Thursday and Saturday, 7 p.m. Monday and 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, Gold Town Nickelodeon.

“Mad Monster Party” at the Gold Town: An animated comedy from 1967, featuring the voices of Boris Karloff and Phyllis Diller, among others, Shows at 4 p.m. Saturday, 2 p.m. Sunday and 5 p.m. Monday, Gold Town Nickelodeon.
