Juneau Student Symphony performs twice this weekend

The Juneau Student Symphony, directed by Rick Trostel, will offer two performances this weekend at the JACC: on Saturday, Nov. 3 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 4 at 4 p.m..

The orchestra will open with Mussorgsky’s “Promenade” and “Great Gate of Kiev” and will close with the bombastic “Marche Slave” by Tchaikovsky. In between, each section of the orchestra will offer its individual flavor: woodwinds playing Beethoven’s “Für Elise”; brass playing Host’s “Second Suite”; percussion playing DelBorgo’s “Dimensions III”; strings playing Vivaldi’s “Autumn” from the Four Seasons, and the third movement of Vivaldi’s “Violin Concerto in A Minor” with Lisa Eldridge, youth violin soloist.

Admission is pay-as-you-can.
