Northern Light United Church, on 11th and B Streets downtown, will hold their annual holiday bazar on Nov. 17, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Items will include homemade baked goods, jams and jellies, restored vintage dolls, attic treasures, and a wide variety of handmade crafts including baskets, jewelry, quilted pieces, pottery, scarves and more.
Lunch will be available for shoppers from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., and will include homemade soups, breads and pies.
This year the bazaar has added a special attraction: activities for kids ages 3-10, offered from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
The money raised at the bazaar goes to a variety of missions locally including. Haven House (a halfway house for women in transition), Camp Champ (provides scholarships for displaced children to attend camp), the AWARE Shelter, the Glory Hole, the Alaska Children’s Home and others. Other funds are allocated to support missions around the world.
