Two public art projects are currently seeking proposals from artists in Alaska, both with deadlines in December.
First, the University of Alaska Fairbanks is seeking proposals for the permanent installation of public art for the Life Sciences Research and Teaching Facility on the UAF campus. Complete documents for this project are available at facilities.alaska.edu/uaf/fsProps/rfp.cfm. Proposals and forms must be delivered no later than 5 p.m. Alaska Time, Dec. 12, to be considered.
Second, the Alaska State Council on the Arts, on behalf of the Alaska Department of Health and Social Services, is requesting qualifications from artists for interior artwork to be commissioned for the recently renovated McLaughlin Youth Center in Anchorage. The total art budget is $175,000. Entries must be received by Dec. 7, by 9:59 p.m. Alaska time. Applications will be accepted online only at www.callforentry.org.
