Northern Light Church music grants awarded

Northern Light United Church has given four grants totaling nearly $20,000 to Juneau organizations providing music education for Juneau youth. The grants were made possible by proceeds from the Ruth Dae and Louis Eugene Anderson Endowment Fund, established expressly for music education for children and youth in Juneau.

The organizations receiving grants are the Alaska Youth Choir, the Juneau Community Charter School Guitar program, and the Juneau Alaska Music Matters (JAMM) programs at both Glacier Valley Elementary School and Riverbend Elementary. Funds will provide scholarships, buy instruments and employ additional afterschool music instructors.
