The Alaska Journal of Commerce announced their Top Forty Under 40 awards this week, a list that honors up-and-coming leaders under 40 years old from around the state. The 2013 list includes Xh’unei Lance Twitchell, Assistant Professor of Alaska Native languages at UAS.
Alaska Journal of Commerce Managing Editor Andrew Jensen said in an email that out of more than 140 Alaskans considered for this honor, Twitchell was one of only 11 unanimous selections this year.
Recipients demonstrate “professional excellence and a commitment to community.”
“With Top Forty Under 40 honorees from Ketchikan to North Pole, we are pleased to have a statewide representation in the 2013 class,” Jensen said in a release. “This is an outstanding group of young people making a difference both professionally and personally throughout Alaska in the private, public and non-profit sectors.”
Recipients will be publicly honored April 5 at the Hotel Captain Cook in Anchorage. Tickets are $50 and are available by contacting Angela Krenzien at (907) 275-2107 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
