At this week’s Sound and Motion presentation at UAS, archivist Damon Stuebner will host the fourth annual collection of vintage and historic films from the Alaska State Archives and Library.
This year’s selection includes a promotional film highlighting Alaska people, arts and travel; a film by the late Chuck Keen on the history of the Alaska Marine Highway; a film on daily life in the Aleutian village of Atka and Alaska State Museum short promos featuring actor James Earl Jones.
Treasures from the State Film Historical Collection begins at 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 8, in the Egan Lecture Hall at the University of Alaska Southeast.
It is free and open to the public.
