Council on Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault to host Juneau Rising

The Council on Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault and other local organizations will host Juneau Rising, an event organized to show strength and solidarity in rejecting violence against women and girls. It begins at noon Thursday, Feb 14, in the Atrium on the 8th floor of the State Office Building. More than 200 countries and territories around the world are participating in similar events Thursday.

Local participants are encouraged to bring a lunch, wear pink or red and join others for music and dance.

This event is part of V-Day’s 1 Billion Rising Campaign- a global movement to end violence against women and girls. For more information, visit
