This week’s Fireside Lecture will be “Power to the People: Avalanche Mitigation and History at Snettisham” with Alaska Electric Light and Power Company’s Eric Eriksen and avalanche forecaster Mike Janes. Eriksen and Janes will explain how the new avalanche diversion structures are helping to keep Juneau’s electricity source safe.
Programs begin at 6:30 p.m. and at 8 p.m. at the Mendenhall Glacier Visitor Center.
