The local observance of the National Education Association’s Read Across America Day will take place this Saturday, March 2, at .Thunder Mountain High School from 10 a.m. to noon. Local professionals, authors and others will gather for a read-in at the school at this all-ages event, which will include free books for all who attend.
Now in its 16th year, NEA’s Read Across America is a year-round program that focuses on motivating children and teens to read through events, partnerships, and reading resources. Events are scheduled all over the world, including more than 20 in Alaska.
