UAS' Not Safe for Improv joins Improv: First Saturday line-up

Not Safe for Improv, from the University of Alaska Southeast, will return to The Gold Town Nickelodeon as part of Juneau’s monthly improvisational theater event, Improv: First Saturday, this weekend. The show begins at 9 p.m. Saturday, March 2.

Not Safe for Improv, now in its fourth season, has performed at the UAS campus, the Second Stage at Perseverance Theatre, and as the opening act for the past two Three Ring Improv shows. The group has also been selected to perform in the Alaska State Improv Festival, which will be held April 18 to 20 in Juneau.

Also performing is Rorschach Pattern 9, a mash-up of improv and beat poetry, fashioned by long-time Juneau improvisers Mike Christenson and Eric Caldwell. Morally Improv-erished will also be performing a montage of unscripted scenes.

Tickets are $10 and available from Heathside Books, the Juneau Arts & Culture Center, and at the door.
