Art of the Harp concert to feature two harpists from California

Diana Stork and Portia Diwa

The Alaska Folk Festival will host a special concert, Art of the Harp, this Saturday, March 30 at 7:30 p.m. at Northern Light Church.

Bay Area harpists Diana Stork and Portia Diwa have performed widely together for more than 15 years. The music of their Celtic Harp Trio, Triskela, was used in the feature documentary “Reclaiming the Blade”, narrated by John Rhys-Davies. They have also lectured and given workshops in universities throughout the US, and have recordings that feature Latin, Celtic and other world styles. Besides performing, they both have active teaching careers.

Saturday’s concert will include music from Ireland, South America, and California, performed on Celtic-style lever harps.

Tickets are $18 in advance and $20 at the door and are available at Hearthside, Rainy Day Books, and Alaska Folk Festival, Inc.
