April 15 marks deadlines for JAHC juried art show and gallery applications

Applications for the Juneau Arts and Humanities Council’s Juried Art Show and Monthly Gallery Exhibits are due April 15, as are applications for the JAHC’s Major Arts & Culture Grant. The deadline is 5 p.m.

This year’s Juried Art Exhibiton, planned for June 2013, will be judged by Sitka artist Nicholas Galanin. Artists are invited to submit works for consideration. Submission is free for members and $50 for non-members.

Artists are also invited to apply for a Monthly Gallery Exhibit at the JAHC Gallery, for shows opening September 2013 through August 2014. The JAHC’s Gallery Exhibits include a JAHC-supported public opening on the First Friday of the month.

The Major Arts & Culture Grant assists organizations whose primary purpose is to provide cultural opportunities to the community of Juneau, opportunities which encourage creative expression, stimulate understanding and appreciation of the arts and humanities, and encourage community support of the arts and humanities. These funds are provided by the City & Borough of Juneau.

Grants and scholarship applications can be picked up at the JAHC office, located at Juneau Arts & Culture Center at 350 Whittier St, or downloaded from www.jahc.org.

Gallery applications are submitted online at jahc.org/gallery/entry.
