A Norwegian Breakfast, also called Frokost, will be served to the public on Saturday, April 13, from 9:30 a.m.–1 p.m. at the Juneau Yacht Club at Aurora Harbor. This annual event -- sponsored by the Svalbard Lodge, Sons of Norway and Friends of Scandinavia of Juneau -- is a scholarship fundraiser, with proceeds going to a high school student for post-secondary education.
The menu will include Norwegian specialties of sour cream waffles with strawberries and whipped cream, Norwegian eggs supreme, sausage-egg casserole, hash brown casserole, Norwegian rolls, geitost cheese and pickled herring. Hot beverages and orange juice will be served with the breakfast.
Music will be played by Dale Wygant on accordion and friends, and Folk Festival musicians are encouraged to come out and jam.
Suggested donations are $15 for adults, $10 for students and seniors and $5 for children 12 and under.
