April 20 will be the last opportunity to view the All Alaska Juried Art Exhibition XXXIV on display at the Alaska State Museum. Organized biennially by the Anchorage Museum at Rasmuson Center, the exhibit encourages Alaska artists to create new work, with a goal of showcasing the finest artworks produced in the state.
This year’s juror, Susan Cross, selected 40 pieces for the biennial exhibition -- including Juneau artist Dan Fruits’ oil painting, “Chilkat Study” -- from 479 submissions by 140 Alaska artists. Cross is a curator at the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art in North Adams.
Discounted winter admission for museum visitation is $3. For more, visit www.museums.state.ak.us.
