The Carnival of Fun, a benefit event for Juneau resident Lisa Morley, will be held on Saturday, April 27 at the JACC. Morley is currently undergoing treatments for breast cancer.
This event includes a family-friendly carnival in the afternoon and an adult-only carnival in the evening.
The kids’ carnival will be held from 2-5 p.m. and all ages are welcome. Tickets are $10 adults and $5 for kids, which include 5 free game tickets. The event includes old-fashioned carnival games, a dunk tank, a dress-up photo booth, live performers, food, prizes, and a silent auction with locally donated items.
Later that evening, the carnival will be open to those 21 and over and will include old-fashioned carnival games, adult themed prizes, a beer and wine garden and live music hosted by Collete Costa. The music lineup includes Susu and the Prophets around 9 p.m., Kari Groven and the Wristrockets around 10:15 p.m., and Disco Punch around 11:15 p.m. The adult carnival runs from 8 p.m. to midnight and tickets are $10.
A single mom and long-time Juneau resident, Morley has already undergone surgery and chemotherapy, and is departing to be with her family in Chicago for further cancer treatments later next month. The goal of the benefit is to raise at least $10,000, which will help Morley pay for her medical and living expenses while she is off work for her medical care.
