The Alaskan AIDS Assistance Association will present “Femme Fatale,” an annual drag show fundraiser, on Thursday and Friday nights, May 2 and 3, and two shows on Saturday, May 4. All money raised will help support the work of the Four A’s – a non-profit organization that provides supportive services to Alaskans living with HIV/AIDS and their families, while also working to eliminate the transmission of HIV and its stigma.
The Femme Fatale divas will perform on Friday at 10 p.m., at The Rendezvous, and Saturday at 7 p.m. and 10 p.m. at the Westmark Baranof. Evening shows are 21 and older, and the Saturday 7 p.m. show is 18 and older. There will also be a silent auction at the Saturday shows. Tickets are $20 in advance or $25 at the door, and can be purchased at Hearthside Books. There is a special student ticket price of $15 for the 7 p.m. show.
The Amateur Drag competition will be held Thursday at 9 p.m. at the Rendezvous and is pay-as-you-can. For more information, or to find out more about performing at the amateur show on Thursday, contact Phoebe Rohrbacher at 586-6089, or go the Four A’s Facebook page at www.facebook.com/AlaskanAIDS.
