MUSIC VIDEO COMPETITION

F magazine is currently hosting a Statewide Music Video Competition, with a registration deadline of July 1 and a submission deadline of Sept. 1. Called F-Action, the first annual competition is open to all Alaska residents. The music in the video does not have to be created by Alaska residents, however, residency is preferred and will be taken into consideration by the judges. Music must be original and the music video must be no longer than 10 minutes, including credits. The video must be submitted on line, as well as on disc; format must be DVD or Blu-Ray.

Judging will be based on content, quality of production, technical skill and final product. Judges will pick a first, second and third place winner, as well as an editor’s choice award winner.

The awards celebration will be held in November at Out North Contemporary Art House, and will include a screening of the winning videos. Subsequently, the winning entries will go to several film festivals around the state, and will be entered in film festivals outside the state.
