Anchorage Film Festival announces short film contest

Anchorage — The Anchorage International Film Festival has announced a new short film contest designed to encourage filmmaking in Alaska by Alaskans. The submission period for the “Great Alaskan Short Film Contest” is open through Oct. 15.

Films must be between 15 and 25 minutes in length and not have screened anywhere previously. 

The premiere screenings for the top four “Great Alaskan Short Film Contest” finalists will be held during the Anchorage International Film Festival, Dec. 6-15 at several venues in Anchorage including the Bear Tooth Theatre. The winners will be announced at the end of the event.

The Anchorage International Film  Festival is a not-for-profit organization. Its mission is to support independent and international film, and to develop a film program for Alaskans while promoting Alaska as a stage for film production.
