The 10th annual Atlin Arts and Music Festival will be held July 12-14 in Atlin, B.C.
This year’s musical line-up includes bluegrass musicians The Gibson Brothers, eclectic musician Harry Manx, Juno award winning vocalist Hawksley Workman, Canadian Country Music Hall of Famer Michelle Wright, harmonica player Mike Stevens, roots band Gordie MacKeeman and the Rhythm Boys and Brazilian musician Celso Machado. Also featured are Trent Severn, Kevin Breit, Emm Gryner, The Boom Booms, Silver Screen Scoundrels, The Michael Woods Band, Steve Brockley Band, Soir de Semaine, Brenda Bezeran & the Free Radicals, The Crooked Brothers, Richard Van Camp, Miche Genest, and the Taku Kwaan Dancers.
The festival also features storytellers, arts workshops, and displays of work by the region’s photographers, sculptors and painters.
Traditional dancing and drumming from the Taku River Tlingit First Nation opens every festival, and at the end, the Taku Kwaan Dancers join with other musicians and audience members in a celebration of traditional First Nations and contemporary songs.
The festival welcomes all ages, and includes camping opportunities.
Last year’s festival attracted more than 2,500 people, according to the event website.
