Jillian Belle Gross, left, and Amber Brook Rounds-McPherson, both 12, react to learning a choreographed dance during the Summer Theatre Arts Rendezvous’ production of “Cinderella” at Perseverance Theatre on Tuesday.

“Cinderella,” directed by Ekatrina Oleksa Sotomayor, is one of three productions currently in rehearsal at the theater, in addition to “King Lear,” directed by Doniece Gott, and “Guys and Dolls,” directed by Dawn Kolden. The 5-week summer program, offered annually for youth ages 10-18, was recognized by the National Endowment for the Arts as one of 16 “outstanding American arts programs for young people” in 2002.

Performances of these plays will be Friday, Aug. 2–Sunday, Aug. 11
