Staff changes at the JAHC

The Juneau Arts & Humanities Council has announced some recent staff changes, including the hiring of new staff members Kimberley Naylor and Rachael Juzeler.

Naylor has been hired to serve as the director for the Juneau Arts and Culture Center, managing the rentals of the facility as well as the JAHC Gallery and Lobby Shop. Naylor’s previous position was Curator of Public Programs at the Juneau Douglas City Museum; she is also an artist and an educator. Catherine Hatch serves as her assistant.

Juzeler, a local artist and former Alaska Brewing Co. employee, joins the staff as the program assistant. She’ll be working with Kari Groven, recently promoted to the position of program director, to produce the Juneau Arts & Humanities Council upcoming season of events, expanded this year in celebration of the JAHC’s 40th anniversary. Juzeler’s experience in event planning includes Southeast Alaska Beer Week and the Autumn Harvest Festival, both of which she founded as well as organized.

Sue Sloss, former part-time manager of the gallery and Lobby Shop, has retired to pursue personal goals, and Lynn Metcalfe, who had been serving part time overseeing the rental aspect of the JACC, is assuming fulltime work with the JAHC as the office manager.

Nancy DeCherney will continue to serve the JAHC as executive director.
