This week’s Evening at Egan lecture will focus on the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act and Sealaska Lands Legislation. It will be led by former state Sen. Albert Kookesh, chairman of the board of the Sealaska Corporation.
Kookesh will discuss some of the challenges faced by Native corporations 40 years after the passage of ANCSA by Congress in 1971.
The lecture will begin at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 20, in the Egan Lecture Hall on the UAS campus at Auke Bay.
