The Thunder Mountain High School Theater Department, under the direction of Barbara Jo Maier, will present “The Three Musketeers” this weekend and next weekend at the TMHS auditorium. This weekend’s shows are at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 4, and at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5. Next weekend’s performances will continue with shows at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Oct. 11 and 12, and at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 13.
In getting ready for the production, students received sword-fight training from members of Juneau’s Society for Creative Anachronism. Some of the sword fights will include guest appearances by TMHS teachers and the principal, Dan Larson.
“The Three Musketeers” is based on the classic novel by Alexandre Dumas, written in 1844. It tells the story of Musketeers Athos, Porthos, and Aramis, who join forces with a fourth man, D’Artagnan, to counter an evil plot against the king headed up by Cardinal Richelieu.
Tickets for the TMHS production, $10 and $8, are available online at www.jahc.org and at the door.
