Though the Juneau Arts & Humanities Council’s annual Wearable Art Extravaganza isn’t until February, it’s already time to begin planning if you are thinking about participating as an artist.
A “Meet the Director and Designers” meeting will be held on Monday, Oct. 21, from 6-7 p.m. at the JACC, and is open to anyone interested in participating in the show. The meeting will include discussions about the set design and overall vision for this year’s show with director Shona Strauser and designers Jeremy Bauer and Jason Clifton, and an explanation of why the JAHC is pushing the registration deadline to Dec. 16. (Hint: it involves pre-recording videos of models.) Registration for Wearable Art artists is $35 and the deadline is Dec. 16.
This year’s theme is technicolor, and the show dates are Feb. 8 and 9.
Wearable Art ticket sales open for some groups on Nov. 1 at 7:30 p.m. at the JACC. The early ticket sales are open for big JAHC donors, season ticket holders and Wearable Art artists who paid their registration fee and filled out their registration form. Tickets for JAHC members go on sale Dec. 2, and the general public can buy tickets on Jan. 15.
